Don't Look Back
Rated 5 / 5 stars November 25, 2011
Amazing
I have to say, I was really surprised. I didn't understand why the game was titled "Don't look back" until later. I also, like someone else pointed out, that this game is very similar to the classic Atari. Also, the story is very much so of Greek mythology (for those of you who are confused, read about Orpheus, very interesting). I have to say, however, that the ending did confuse me, and I don't quite understand what happened. I was heartbroken, because after much tedious work, for the game to end the way it did. I only, as I was writing this, realized the bosses. In the story of Orpheus, Orpheus had to get past Cerebus, a three headed dog, and had to speak to Hades himself (familiar yet?). I feel if I tell you the rest of the story it may ruin the game, so apologies. Still leaving me confused, however, due to the ending and how it ended so strangely. Which was rather tragic.
As for game play, I loved it. I brought back a very much so classic feel of platformers on consoles such as the Atari. The game did, however, have a steep learning curve, and truly had me retrying levels multiple times. But that was the fun of it. The bosses were a pain, but once you understood a pattern it was pretty much just not dying through the fights.
Anyway a great game, but I wish maybe there was a bit more reason to how it ended as it did. Maybe someone can tell me. For during the ending, no one looked back.

This is Amazing
I truly love the artistic value of everything.
The fact that if you dis-obey your say "father" everything become colorfull, unique if you might say. Everything is UN-clear if you, however, you become unique, colorful...different. While obeying everything is clear and planned out even though you may become a "slave" (i'm using slave very loosely).
Truly I realized that everything you do branches back to being 'Loved'. In the end, if you completely dis-obey your 'father' he askes why you hate him, showed that he thinks that you do not love him. The exact opposite where you obey him, he will call you what you really are. Truly, this whole thing branches back to being 'Loved'. If you are loved by your father, won't he do what he can to help you? The bad part of all of that is that you lose free will, and your individuality if you obey, also causing you to possibly be harmed in the process, such as where he tells you to take the low road, or throw yourself into the barbs at the bottom of the pit. I truly agree with FrogofDrakoja ( guy below me ) in all of the opinions he has listed.
I love the artistic value in the whole thing and truly admire the work you put into this. I love the whole thing I ask, and tell you, to make a sequel even better than this one.

I think
I thing this is great as far as the beats and how the whole thing works. I love it truly, the only thing that bothered me was that I don't quite know how everything goes together. But still, great job! 5/5 9/10
